The DNA Replication position will focus on identifying the mechanisms that effect coordinate control of DNA replication initiation from the multiple replication origins in the Sulfolobus chromosome. Projects will involve a series of biochemical, genetic and protein structure-based approaches.
Seeking collegial, self-motivated, independent, and intellectually curious individuals, who by the time of appointment, should have PhDs in molecular biology, microbial genetics, biochemistry, or a related field. Applicants must have strong bench skills, and familiarity with techniques such as cloning, qPCR, recombinant protein purification, and the bioinformatic analyses of next-gen sequencing data is strongly desirable (though training in these techniques will also be provided as necessary).
In addition, candidates must have demonstrated written and oral communication skills. Experience working with archaea is helpful but not required.
