As a Ornamentals Sales Representative, you will be responsible for meeting and exceeding sales goals and objectives in the Ornamentals market, while developing customer business relationships that create long term value for BASF and our customers. You will also be responsible for implementation and execution of field tactical activities that maintain and grow our product portfolio. In addition, you will function as BASF's face to our customers, as well as many other market influencers and industry partners.
You will live within and manage a territory that consists of IN, MI, OH, KY, PA, NJ, DE, MD, NY and New England traveling up to 50-75% of the time. You will need to live in the territory.
Formula for Success
Leveraging your Bachelors degree and agronomic industry experience (ex: Nursery and/or Greenhouse Ornamentals and/or Lawn/Landscape management, and/or Agricultural Products and/or related disciplines), you will g row our market and product portfolio through promoting innovations, creating solutions for customers and effectively executing field activities.
Striving for excellence, you will develop a professional and personal skill set that will positively impact business strategy and growth.
Your previous direct sales experience (Lawncare and/or Ornamental experience will be considered in lieu of direct sales experience) and formal sales training courses will aid you in managing a Sales Territory to achieve yearly sales goals within assigned budgets.
Demonstrating your strong customer focus and entrepreneurial skills, you will build and cultivate strong business relationships with key end users and maintain a working profile of opportunities with each end user.
Utilizing your account/territory management/planning experience, you will support and utilize a distribution network to increase sales throughout your territory.
Your Sales/Marketing experience in Ornamentals, Lawn/Landscape, or Agricultural markets will serve you well as you present and administer marketing programs to end users and participate in special sales and marketing projects.
Your excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to influence will be valued assets as you provide biology and product training to key end users and distribution network.
Effectively communicating across the business, you will report top opportunities through a strategic monthly review.
