A Senior Research Specialist is required for a lead position on a major project that is funded with institutional support.
The project studies the use of antigen-specific T cells to enhance the safety and efficacy of allogeneic blood and marrow transplant. The project will touch on diverse aspects of T cell immunology including antigen presentation to T cells, T cell exhaustion, and T cell function in tissues other than lymph node and spleen. Varied techniques are also employed, including multiparameter flow cytometry and cells sorting, single cell sorting, cloning of T cell receptors from single cells, expression of cloned T cell receptors in other T cells, and the study of these T cells in creating tolerance for solid organ transplantation and to treat autoimmune diseases.
Masters degree required with several year's experience in immunology and lab techniques typically used in immunology research, rodent handling, cell culture, flow cytometry, and molecular biology.
Prefer a minimum of an MS in Molecular Biology, microbiology or Immunology but not required. At least 5 years laboratory experience in microbiology, immunology, or other related fields. Experience in animal handling, PCR, cell culture, flow cytometry, typical molecular biology techniques desired. Computer literate.
