THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY ResponsibilitiesThe main role of this Staff Research Associate I is to conduct research activities, provide technical and logistic support and conduct studies on neurodevelopmental disorder including, but not limited to, Fragile X syndrome, Autism spectrum disorderand 22q deletion syndrome. Required Qualifications
Experience with purchasing of laboratory supplies, equipment inventory, laboratory safety knowledge or training.
Excellent planning or organization skills, attention to experimental details. Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks is essential. Must be punctual, detailed and reliable.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to maintain legible and complete records. Interpersonal skills to interact constructively and professionally with individuals at all levels are important.
Advanced experience with Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Endnote and graphics softwares, to prepare tables, charts, graphics, slides, and written documents in different formats to support PI in writing grants and papers.
Demonstrated ability and experience in routine biochemical and chemical techniques.
Knowledge of the molecular understanding of neurodevelopmental disorders.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills to communicate clearly and effectively with lab researchers, clinicians and health care professionals while overseeing a comprehensive correlative science system.
Demonstrated experience in setting up organized and user friendly databases in both MS Access, RedCap and Excel.
Demonstrated experience in maintaining safety training records, chemical inventory, CLIA documentaion binders and inventory notebook.
General knowledge of all techniques, safety protocols and equipment used in the laboratory.
Experience with concepts, principles and practices of laboratory research.
Ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize and work on several projects at one time.
Ability to understand scientific papers and theories to apply in laboratory experiments.
Lab Safety Practices/Procedures.
