Director/Associate-Assistant Director/Manager experience in IR/Cath Lab/EP strongly preferred. 1+ years of recent Director or, 1+ years of recent Associate/Assistant Director experience strongly preferred, or 5+ years of recent Manager experience strongly preferred.
Summary This position will provide clinical leadership for Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Electrophysiology, Interventional Radiology, Bronchoscopy, Pre/Post, a 10 bed overnight unit, and will partner closely with Medical Directors in each clinical area including anesthesia. Areas of responsibility include: capital budgets and improvements over and under $50,000 as well as management of operational budgets for all areas, Quality, patient safety, patient and staff satisfaction, and all regulatory standards for surgical, ambulatory, and inpatient care settings. The position will provide clinical leadership for 60-80 procedures per day, ambulatory patients, and inpatients, and will be responsible for over 100 FTEs with various shifts, and on-call responsibilities. The Director will have the opportunity to work with four incredible Managers, and Nurse Managers. As Director of Patient Services, RN in our Cardiac and Vascular Center, you will supervise all Care Team Specialists, Charge Nurses and Support Staff. You will foster an environment of accountability and commitment to quality and safety standards as well as delivering exceptional customer service to patients and families. Key responsibilities also include developing an annual budget, recruitment and retention of staff and managing process improvement of patient throughput and delivery of care. Provides leadership and administrative direction in the delivery of quality patient care services at University of Colorado Hospital in collaboration with medical staff and other health care disciplines in fulfillment of our mission of patient care, research, education and community service. Supports an environment that promotes our vision. Responsibilities achieved through effective utilization of all resources, implementation of hospital strategic goals and providing leadership for program implementation and evaluation, and policy development. Promotes evidence based practice. Provides an optimum learning environment for students of multiple disciplines. Collaborates with Schools of Nursing for undergraduate and graduate nursing students. Provides community leadership in the development of standards of nursing practice and in the overall development of health care policy. The Director of Patient Services is responsible for holding the nursing staff, imaging staff and rehabilitative staff accountable for the management of safe patient care and maintenance of optimal care delivery outcomes. Responsibilities: Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Other information: Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing. Master's Degree in Nursing or Administration or signed agreement to complete Master's Degree in Nursing within agreed upon time frame. Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. Required. Minimum Experience: 5 years of increasing administrative roles including responsibility for multiple units.
BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
