Performs assignments which are non-routine and vary in complexity with minimal direction. Compiles data and computes results for a variety of research procedures, tests and techniques.
Seeking a Research Lab Technician II position immediately in Dr. Zhen Zhao (https://keck.usc.edu/faculty/zhen-zhao/). Â The laboratory is focused on the crosstalk between the different cell types of the neurovascular unit, in the context of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and cerebral vessel disease, as well as genetic and molecular determinants of these diseases.Â Â The ideal candidate should have a background in cell biology, genetics, immunology, or bioinformatics. Experienced with PCR, real-time PCR, western blot, flow cytometry, ELISA assay, cell culture and bacteria culture, DNA & RNA & protein extraction, electroporation and other basic bench techniques.
Familiar with animal caring and handling, and can and perform certain surgical procedures.Â Have the abilities to handle independent projects and be adaptive to challenges and difficulties.Â Have strong team building rapport to work as a team is essential. Knowledge on cell culture and in vitro assays is a plus.
