Bachelor's Degree. In lieu of degree, four  years of directly related full time experience, or a combination of higher education and experience totaling four  full-time years may be considered. One year of full-time administrative experience (student work experience may be considered). Events coordination experience. Experience working with underrepresented student populations.
Preferred Qualifications: E xperience with university diversity programs or recruitment of diverse students . Experience working with federally-funded grants for educational programs . Experience working with students, faculty and university administrators. Experience planning multiple small to large scale events of varying complexity.
Brief Description of Duties : The incumbent will be responsible for providing administrative support for the Center for Inclusive Education programs. The CIE is dedicated to increasing awareness of issues related to diversity at the university level, collaborating with faculty and staff to enhance the diversity of their respective departments, identify and work to remove barriers to underrepresented scholar success, and at the national level, engage in scholarly research activities and program assessment, with the ultimate goal of contributing to greater body of knowledge related to issues of inclusion and diversity. The selected candidate will have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail in a deadline driven environment. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving.
Program Coordination : Day-to-day coordination of CIE diversity grants/programs to enhance the recruitment, retention and professional development of underrepresented minority students and postdoctoral fellows. Duties include assistance with planning and executing high-visibility activities, and participation in project- related meetings, both on- and off-campus. Organize tasks and agendas, take minutes, write correspondence, and assist as necessary on special projects and with the daily support of the Program Manager.
Program Administration : Assist with the maintenance of program-related files and administrative responsibilities associated with expenses, including travel reimbursement forms, catering quotes, honoraria, etc. Serve as a liaison with Procurement and the Office of Grants Management to ensure the timely processing of invoices and requisitions.
Event Coordination : Assist the Program Manager with the preparation of program materials, event promotions, scholar announcements and reports for broad distribution, including newsletters and annual reports. Contribute to the CIE social media campaigns by sharing appropriate programmatic happenings and updates.
Data Management : Support the Program Manager in the collection and analysis of relevant data (scholar participation, budget expenditures, and activity outcomes) as well as assist with the preparation of presentations of outcomes and report findings to be given at local and national conferences.
