The Missouri Institute of Mental Health (a research institute at the University of Missouri-St. Louis) has an immediate opening for a Database Programmer/Analyst Expert.
Nature of Work
Position assists the science team with data harmonization and management for archiving and analysis, including programs to optimize data flow, cataloguing, and preparation for data science and traditional statistical algorithms. Experience with neuroimaging data and highly dimensional biohealth data is preferred but not a required asset.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Works with international collaborative teams to transfer and catalog large sets of neuroimaging, neuropsychological, and clinical data
Automates processes to facilitate transfer, cleaning, and storage of data
Leverage existing and new tools to condense and summarize growing data sets for use by internal and external collaborative team members
Establish a data repository system for centralized management of ongoing research project data
Develop ways to efficiently track data and monitor quality control
Master's degree in Psychology, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
Working knowledge of research data management with effective organizational skills, computer proficiency, and ability to work independently.
Strong scripting abilities (bash, C shell, Python, Perl, or other common language)
SQL and database design experience
Data management experience
Great written and verbal communication skills
