The Social Media Strategist is responsible for planning, producing, scheduling and publishing high-quality, engaging social media content to connect, increase engagement and generate a positive image with Pitt-Bradford's audiences. The strategist will develop and implement social media campaigns, use the appropriate tools to measure the success of each campaign and make the appropriate adjustments based on those results, develop a social media content calendar for the university, and provide social media communications in collaboration with other office staff members on crisis communication issues. The strategist will keep abreast of the latest social media best practices and technologies and implement them when appropriate and work collaboratively with other faculty and staff offices on campus to offer social media counsel to help them maximize their social media effectiveness.
Bachelor's degree in a communications-related discipline such as journalism, communications, broadcast communications, writing, English or public relations. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and knowledge of social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat. Clear understanding of the value and power of social media and how social can best be used in higher education, particularly in connecting with prospective students and their parents, arts enthusiasts, and alumni and donors. Experience with or knowledge of online creation, scheduling, monitoring and measurement platforms such as HootSuite. Ability to work and be flexible in a fast-paced environment. Excellent judgment, ability to stay calm in stressful situations, detail oriented, and ability to keep confidences.

Department Details: Our campus is located in Bradford, a welcoming and friendly town of about 11,000 people in northwestern Pennsylvania.
