Position Summary: Under general supervision, the incumbent is responsible for performing ancillary tasks for the Radiology Department and providing administrative support as required to and by the radiologists. Responsibilities include, handling outgoing and incoming communications, the overall management of medical images, requests, preparing images for release to patients, physicians and outside facilities, providing computer support related to confirming procedures, assigning procedure coding, providing phone support to the department, and distributing radiology reports as necessary. Additional duties include processing orders for radiological procedures, monitoring reading room and radiologists' activities to include regulatory and policy compliance and service standards. Responsible for ensuring images are available to the appropriate Radiologist for interpretation. Distributes and maintains control of radiology imaging results and performs related clerical duties. Assists physicians, patients, hospital staff, and others with requests for imaging results, works with physician offices to coordinate retrieval of images.
