Works under the direct supervision of Stone Lab Manager, to assist in preparation of seasonal program at Stone Laboratory; assists in operation of Stone Laboratory Fieldtrip Program and operation of Aquatic Visitor Center; assists in preparation and maintenance of facilities for utilization by visitors, faculty, researchers, and students; provides assistance to administrative and laboratory managers as needed; conducts inventory of supplies and equipment; maintains and repairs scientific equipment and occasionally assist with field research; leads scientific classroom activities for grade 5-12 school groups; leads tours, science cruises, laboratory sessions, and activities for visiting groups; provides information about fieldtrip program; assists in construction and storage of educational displays; conducts orientation sessions for visiting groups; assists in seasonal set-up and close-down procedures for the laboratory; performs special assignments as needed; position is a temporary appointment that will last from mid-April to late October, 2020 (flexible beginning and end dates); position located at Put-In-Bay, Ohio.

Two (2) years of college coursework, demonstrated ability in the conduct of routine field work, or an equivalent combination education and experience; valid driver’s license;
Bachelor’s degree in biological science-related field desired; ability to lift 30 lbs.
Target Salary: $9.50 - $11.00 Hourly
