About the Opportunity: The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is looking for an Administrative Assistant to join their team.
Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Director of Administration and Finance, the Administrative Assistant will perform varied and valued duties for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. S/he will work as part of an administrative team supporting the day to day operations of a busy, academic department. In addition to greeting guests and directing calls at the front desk, the Administrative Assistant will provide general administrative support to faculty specifically organizing and scheduling complex meetings, managing and troubleshooting meeting technology; preparing supporting materials, working with T&P Committee. The Administrative Assistant is also responsible for the smooth running of the office including keeping the public areas clean and tidy and monitoring and ordering office supplies.
Qualifications: Associate's degree and 2-4 years' experience in a fast-paced and service oriented professional office environment is required; prior academic environment experience is a plus. A successful candidate will have a high degree of flexibility, diplomacy, customer service and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be able to handle sensitive material, maintain highest level of confidentiality, set priorities and work independently or as part of a team. We require strong attention to detail and a high degree of proficiency with MS Office products, especially Outlook. Must be able to manage deadlines, to work independently and to function as a solid team member. A successful candidate will be comfortable taking initiative, but also knows when to ask for help
