Job Description Summary
This position will involve assisting in the operation of the new research PET-CT scanner in Radiology. The position will include maintenance and management of the PennPET Explorer imaging facility that will provide support for both human and large animal imaging. This position will more generally provide physics support for on-going PET Center Research activities. Specific duties will include assisting in the development and performance of quality control activities on a daily, monthly, quarterly and annual basis, and transferring, processing, and analyzing data acquired on the imaging instrument. The operation of the PET-CT system will require working with sealed and liquid radiation sources, processing and analyzing data and writing reports. In addition, this position may provide support to other Nuclear Medicine systems in the department.
Assist in maintenance and management of PennPET Explorer Imaging Facility
Assist in development and performance of Quality Control Procedures for PET scanner
Perform data acquisition of PET-CT scanning
Process PET image reconstructions of clinical research studies and large animal studies
Assist in performing phantom tests to calibrate instrument and specify imaging performance
Assist in computer systems support, data transport/display/archival/retrieval
Documentation of imaging procedures
Help troubleshoot and solve problems with scanner and/or imaging protocols

Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
