The Genomics Core Facility (GenCore) at NYU’s Center for Genomics and Systems Biology is seeking a full-time senior laboratory associate. GenCore supports multiple projects and research initiatives in the NYU Biology Department. The Facility includes flow cytometry, next generation sequencing, robotics and several other specialized high-throughput instruments. For more information on GenCore, visit: gencore.bio.nyu.edu.
Leading the design and development of new protocols and applications
Developing novel scripts and strategies for robotic instruments
Designing and developing cell sorting experiments
Overseeing the development of next-generation sequencing methods
Operating, monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting all shared equipment
Consulting with all levels of Biology faculty and staff on experimental issues
Maintaining a high standard of customer service and lab efficiency
Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology, chemistry or life science fields
2 or more years of molecular biology experience
High level knowledge of lab techniques (flow cytometry, qPCR, etc)
Effective oral and communication skills required
Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills
Outstanding customer based skills
Genomics experience required
FACSAria experience preferred but not required
Automation experience preferred but not required
