The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Diego (http://pathology.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is seeking an academic pathologist in the Division of Anatomic Pathology.
UCSD Health System is the only university-based medical facility in San Diego, providing advanced patient care and conducting innovative biomedical research. The Health System includes two university hospitals, an NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Shiley Eye Center, and the Sulpizio Family Cardiovascular Center.
Clinical duties will include sign-out responsibilities, general frozen section coverage, call duties, and presentation at tumor boards. Teaching activities will include participation in resident and fellow training in Anatomic Pathology, and medical student teaching.
Candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent. Candidates must be board certified/board eligible in Anatomic Pathology. Candidates must be authorized to practice medicine in the State of California at the time of hire as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidate must have completed a fellowship in the area of Pathology. Candidates must have subspecialty training and/or demonstrable specialized experience in genitourinary, head and neck and gastrointestinal/hepatobiliary pathology.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
