Position available in the laboratory of Dr. Rita Perlingeiro at the Lillehei Heart Institute to study skeletal muscle differentiation from pluripotent stem cells (Cell Stem Cell, 10:610, 2012; Nat. Comm. 4:1549, 2013; Cell Reports, 19:2867, 2017).
35% - Designing & Conducting Experiments Post Doctoral Associate will be responsible for designing and conducting NIH-funded research experiments pertaining to gene editing of patient-specific LGMD2A iPS cells, disease modeling and transplantation studies.
35% - Collaborate, implement, and analyze experiments Post-Doctoral Associate will be expected to collaborate with other laboratory scientists and outside scientific partners in the design, implementation, and analysis of experiments. As required, you will be expected to prepare manuscripts for submission to scientific journals and present at scientific meetings. You will be expected to apply and receive funding from sponsored research grants (NIH, AHA, industry, etc.).
30% - Documenting Experimental data Detailed documentation of procedures and experimental data is expected. This involves analyses of data, writing summary reports on results of work and discussing results with laboratory colleagues and Principal Investigator. You will be required to present independent review of relevant scientific literature for ongoing projects and discussions of possible new experimental approaches with laboratory colleagues and principal Investigator. In addition, you will be required to present regular presentations of scientific data and significant contribution to the preparation of manuscripts.
