Directly responsible for the supervision, assignment, and coordination of the Instrumentation Group to support departmental and company goals while working within all company policies and local, state, and federal regulations. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
Ensure Instrumentation group assigned activities are performed safely and in accordance with company policies.
Coach and mentor Instrumentation group workforce. Conduct performance reviews, provide recommendations for new hires, promotions, and disciplinary action.
Supervises and coordinates, between departments and groups, corrective and preventative maintenance of powerplant instrumentation/control systems.
Effectively communicate significant plant and personnel issues to the Maintenance Manager and all applicable levels of company management.
Develops standard methods and procedures for performing corrective and preventative maintenance of powerplant instrumentation/control systems.
Maintains work records and applicable documentation of all maintenance performed by the Instrumentation group.
Ensure that training is provided in accordance with the current and future needs of the group.
Supervise vendor inspections and repairs of plant equipment.
Develops requests for proposals (RFP).
Evaluates vendor bids and recommends purchases.
Prepares the labor, contractor, and materials budgetary projections for the Instrumentation group.
Performs on-call duties.
Minimum Associate’s degree in instrument technology or equivalent field, relevant experience preferred.

Ability to operate instrumentation equipment and interpret test results; reason through complex problems under pressure; coordinate schedules and keep projects moving;
Ability to use safety gear and equipment; operate personal computer in LAN environment, using standard word processing, spreadsheet, and database software; and operate standard office equipment.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Class C Operator’s License.
