This position is responsible for a range of duties related to planning, organizing, and overseeing data collection for several clinical research projects both locally and nationally. For local studies, the position is responsible for IRB approvals and amendments; maintaining study files and records; writing standard operating procedures; arranging meetings and preparing minutes; communicating with study subjects; preparing reports; and working with clinical research coordinators, programmers and interviewers. For a national study, the position will assist with data use agreements, study coordination, IRB, invoicing and reports.
Overall direction of the project will be provided by the Principal Investigator; however, the Project Manager is expected to direct the day-to-day operations and to exercise considerable independent judgment in performing his/her duties.
Education and Experience:
At least 5 years’ experience with data collection, including 3 years in a public health environment; knowledge of medical research studies, ability to develop protocols, and the design and implementation of data collection tools including web-based data collection instruments; exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively, and supervise staff; independent decision-making; and maintenance of orderly study records according to federal and University regulations.
