The Department of Integrative Biology invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, fixed term Instructor position in Human Anatomy & Physiology. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Department Head.
We seek applications from individuals who utilize innovative approaches to providing inclusive online and in person instruction. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated success in development and delivery of online courses. We particularly encourage applications from individuals who belong to underrepresented groups in science. This person is expected to design and teach: 1) undergraduate Human Anatomy & Physiology lecture and laboratory courses (primarily online but also on campus) and 2) other biology courses as assigned. This position will reside in the Department of Integrative Biology (100%).
Instructional faculty in the College of Science and the Department of Integrative Biology are expected to develop effectiveness in teaching, demonstrate achievement in scholarship and creative activity as it pertains to their teaching and training, and maintain an appropriate balance of institutional and professional service. This position supports the department's missions in biological research and scholarship, general education in biology and zoology for undergraduate and graduate degrees in biology, and service to the public and the local, national, and international professional communities.
The Integrative Biology Department has teaching responsibilities in nearly every undergraduate major at OSU, and an important role to play in enhancing student success. Typically requires Master’s degree in discipline appropriate to the field of teaching/instructional tasks.
PhD in (Biological) Science or related field including kinesiology, nutrition, and biological engineering by the date of the appointment. Terminal degrees in allied health fields will also be considered.
Demonstrated experience in online instruction.
Demonstrated expertise in the field of vertebrate anatomy & physiology.
