UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is excited to be hiring several full-time roles to help support the Automated Testing Lab! We are looking for qualified Lead Medical Technologists, Medical Technologists, and Medical Lab Technicians to join our team!
There are both evening and night shifts available. There are rotating weekend and holiday responsibilities.
Applicants will be placed into the appropriate job title and salary based on their individual experience and education. Medical Lab Technician salary starts at $17.62/hour. Medical Technologist salary starts at $21.31/hour. Lead Medical Technologist salary starts at $23.28/hour.

Three years experience as a Medical Technologist required, including two years experience in the host laboratory preferred.
One years experience in Histocompatibility in an ASHI accredited laboratory required. (only for Tissue Typing Laboratory).
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university AND successful completion of a CAHEA accredited Medical Technology program,
OR Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science AND ASCP categorical certification,
OR Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science AND at least two years experience in a role equivalent to that of a Medical Laboratory technician (MLT) in a clinical laboratory,
OR equivalent education and experience as defined by CLIA 88 and PA Bureau of Laboratories for technologist performing high complexity testing.
Prefer 1 year experience in a hospital laboratory.
Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory information systems preferred.
Medical Lab Technician:
Associate degree in a laboratory science with certification (or eligible new graduate) from an accredited institution as either a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant (CLA),
OR Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science AND ASCP or equivalent certification,
OR equivalent education and experience as defined by CLIA '88 for individuals performing high complexity testing.
Minimum 1 year's experience in a hospital laboratory preferred.
Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory information systems preferred.
