The Laboratory Manager will have the primary responsibility of managing the daily operation of the laboratory, as well as designing and independently performing scientific investigative research involving the genetics of the aging process in D. melanogaster. The Laboratory Manager will plan and implement research activities, and provide supervision of the research activities of other technical support personnel. The Laboratory Manager will have the responsibility of overseeing the efficient and safe running of the research, and to provide training and guidance to research assistants, grad students, postdocs and other lab personnel. Required: Â BA or BSc in Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics or related field
5-7 yearsâ™ or progressively more responsible related research experience with laboratory management experience required and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Competence in genetic and molecular biology lab techniques; experience with Drosophila preferable
Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills
Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus community
