The Jackson Institute of Global Affairs at Yale University seeks to hire a Lecturer in Global Health into a two-year, renewable position. Area specializations are open, and they should complement the research and teaching interests of current faculty. The appointment is scheduled to begin July 1st, 2020. This is not a tenure-track position. This is a full time position with benefits.
The Jackson Institute will be transitioning into a School of Global Affairs, expanding opportunities to offer interdisciplinary academic programs that provide a comprehensive and grounded understanding of global health and global affairs (https://jackson.yale.edu/).
This Multidisciplinary Academic Program serves a vibrant cohort of undergraduates drawn from many different majors in the social and biological sciences at Yale. Each year, the Program admits about 20 new students, competitively selected from applicants in their sophomore year. The Program provides students rigorous training and engagement with the skills and knowledge relevant to global health research and practice.
The candidate will teach required and elective courses in the Global Health Studies Program, such as the current introductory course (Global Health: Challenges and Responses) and the senior-level course (Global Health Colloquium). The candidate will also assume the role of program coordinator and advise the students admitted to the program with respect to projects and career development.
