This position will teach one three-credit-hour section of DSCI 304 (Introduction to Effective Data Visualization) in the spring semester of 2020. DSCI 304 is a required course for the new undergraduate data science minor at Rice. The successful applicant will have at least a master’s degree, and a PhD degree is preferred. The degree can be in any field that includes practice in creating visual representations of research data.
Experience producing multi-modal scholarship, either one’s own scholarship or as part of a team
Experience using Python or R
Successful teaching experience
Employment or attendance at a Level 1 research university
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
