The University of Washington's Materials Science and Engineering Department seeks candidates for a full-time tenure-track faculty position with a nine-month service period in the area of Electron Microscopy science to begin September 2020 or on a mutually agreed date thereafter. Faculty duties include research, teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and mentoring of students. Commensurate with experience and qualifications, appointment at the level of both associate Professor and tenure Track assistant professor will be considered. Candidates will be expected to maintain an active research program with the core principles of electron microscopy study of materials science. The research topics may include but are not limited to: new imaging method development and implementation, quantum materials, energy materials, and biomaterials, which provides insight into the fundamental physical properties.
