Duties will include general cell and molecular biology laboratory activities like sterile cell culture and maintenance of cell lines, cell proliferation assays, S.cerevisiae cell culture, DNA, protein and RNA isolation, agarose gel electrophoresis, western blots, PCR, plasmid preparation and cell transfection (30%). Preparation of cell culture media and solutions (10%). Keeping detailed lab notebooks (10%). This individual will also participate in ordering, preparing and laying out supplies, equipment and apparatus, and confers with other staff in drafting work schedules and plans for execution of more complex laboratory experiments (30%). Reviews literature as suggested by the investigator, and select relevant facts, techniques and procedures (10%). Summarizes the findings from the literature and presents data at regular laboratory group meetings (10%).
Required Qualifications BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years.
Preferred Qualifications BA/BS in Biology or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience to equal four (4) years Experience in immunohistochemistry. Ability to think independently about experimental design and possible outcomes Ability to work semi-autonomously with minimal oversight from PI Proven sense of urgency and ability to multitask.
