Overlake’s technology team is comprised of the following positions: Network and Systems Support Specialist, AV and Help Desk Support Specialist, Data Support Specialist, Data and Web Administrator, and Instructional Coach for Technology, led by the Director of Technology. We work closely with all departments across the school and lead the school in both academic and operational technologies.
The Data Support Specialist is primarily responsible for working with students, faculty and staff to support end-user data needs, culture, and workflows.?As members of the support team within the broader Technology Team, all Support Specialists at Overlake are also responsible for supporting technical aspects and systems that compose the technology initiatives of the school. Successful members of the technology team are customer service oriented, communicative, reliable, and take initiative to make the world a better place. In all aspects of this work, the goal is to build professional relationships with community members and to ensure that the user experience, as well as the culture, support, services, and infrastructure, work in concert to fulfill the mission and values of the Overlake School. The ideal candidate has a strong love of learning, a desire to work in a school environment, is a team player, and has the curiosity to dive in to solve any problem.
Data Support Specialist Duties & Responsibilities:
Work with the offices of Admissions, Registrar, Athletics, Development, and Communications to ensure efficient data flow, integrity and inter-office collaboration.
Serve as the main point of contact for staff, faculty, current and prospective students, and families for second-tier and back-end SIS-related issues.
Work closely with the Web & Database Administrator and Director of Technology to integrate the SIS with other data systems and perform routine maintenance.
Be the school’s leading champion of best practices in data culture and data hygiene.
Educate the community on biases in data visualization and analysis.
Take a leadership role in Overlake’s Core SIS / Data Culture Team.
Work with Data and Web Administrator to serve as main points of contact with the school’s SI
Shared Support Specialist Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide end-user technical support throughout the organization.
Manage and utilize help desk systems and workflows to document and track customer service, including staffing the help desk.
Assist in the deployment, maintenance and reclamationof devices.
Attend and participate in technology department and community meetings.
Lead and participate in the planning and delivery of technology-driven learning sessions for employees, parents, and students.
Collaborate, brainstorm and share best practices within the department and community.
Engage in regular professional development that supports school, department and personal goals.
Take initiative to make things better; document and communicate changes to the team and community.
Maintain up-to-date inventory information on all hardware as well as licensing information on software and subscriptions.
Provide basic network support in consultation with colleagues.
Provide occasional technical and A/V support for community events after hours.
Provide software and hardware support for campus A/V, PA, telephone systems.
Refer major hardware or software problems to outside vendors for assistance and service.
Provide backup support to departmental staff as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Director of Technology
Working Conditions: Daily interaction with faculty, staff, students, parents, vendors, trustees, and volunteers. After-hours and special events support occasionally required. Ability to lift 30 lbs., climb stairs, crawl under desks as needed.
Salary: $45,000 - $47,000
