Job Summary/Basic Function: Position Overview This position is responsible for Property Management , Inventory, and storekeeping act ions. Responsible for ensuring compliance with the State of Texas and University regulations. This is accomplished by balancing and reconciling SPA data to University Annual Financial data and maintaining appropriate files. Work involves the responsibility for physical Inventories; maintaining property accounting records; disposing of obsolete, damaged, or surplus property; and management of a central store operation. Independent judgment and Initiative are required. Other duties include working with Procurement and Finance to resolve discrepancies, attending meetings, and providing customer service to the general public, faculty, staff, and students.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications
Education/license Required: Four-year bachelors degree in accounting or related field is required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Working experience In the Property Accounting and Inventory field is required.
Thorough knowledge of Inventory and central stores methods and procedures, of property account, and of state laws governing the handling of state property .
Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word. Knowledge of Banner system is a plus.
Physical Demands: Repetitive movement of hands and fingers- typing and/or writing.
Lifting/Carrying: Lifts maximum of 40 pounds. Carries 15 pounds frequently .
Pushing/Pulling: Regularly pushes, pulls, and assembles equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.
Body Positions Standing: Regularly Walking: Regularly Running: Not required, except in emergency situations Sitting: For long periods of time Climbing: When necessary- up and down stairs/steps

Language Ability: Reading: Must be able to comprehend complex procedural Instructions. Writing: Must be able to write or print legibly on simple forms. Speaking: Must have the ability to verbally communicate effectively with logic. Reasoning: Must be able to use independent judgement to study, plan, and coordinate activities.
Property Inventory Accountant: Determine Items to be tagged for inventory Prepare property acquisition paperwork and tag new assets Update SPA/Radiant RFID and AFR database for new assets and changes in existing assets Reconcile SPA/Radiant RFID to AFR database and Banner Reconcile SPA/Radiant RFID to Jefferson Co. Appraisal District Assist with Annual Physical Inventory and warehouse inventory Assist with year-end reporting Maintain Surplus o Coordinate Friday opening of Surplus to campus and ISDs o Prepare and coordinate TDCJ surplus equipment pallets o Coordinate auctions of surplus equipment Enter requisitions into Cardinal Purch Reconcile FedEx and Munros Uniform Invoices Maintain Logistical Supports Lamar webpage Maintain vehicle database and files Maintain property files Create Xtender scans and indexing Send emails to departments for all changes in departments Inventory o New Property o Completed equipment transfers, surplus removals, and IT removals Assist with Property Management issues
