The BioSciences Department at Rice University in Houston, Texas is accepting applications for an open lecturer position, to be filled as soon as possible. Rice University is among the top 20 on U.S. News & World Report’s list of the best national universities.
The initial role for a successful candidate will include an onboarding period where they will assist an existing faculty in the instruction and management of laboratory and lecture courses in Neuroscience for the new and rapidly growing neuroscience major. This position will also provide assistance in degree program assessment, grant proposal preparation, student club oversight and related activities. Starting in Spring 2020, the successful candidate will transition to independent teaching of BIOC449 Advanced Cell and Molecular Neuroscience and BIOC417 Advanced Experimental Neuroscience, in addition to participation in BIOC212 Experimental Neuroscience and BIOC129 BrainSTEM.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in an area relevant to neuroscience; experience with molecular and cellular neuroscience, especially practical lab experience, is strongly preferred. We particularly welcome applications from women and members of historically underrepresented groups.
