Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for Pharmacology, Physiology and Neuroscience. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), the Postdoctoral Fellow conducts research investigating physiological regulatory mechanisms of Transient Receptor Potential (TRP) ion channels.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Participates in experimental design and carries out experiments including animal surgeries.
Operates and maintains experimental equipment; write animal protocols for the IACUC.
Records and analyzes data from experiments.
Assists Principal Investigator in data processing.
Maintains a proper data notebook pursuant to the standards of the Department and the PI.
Contributes to the intellectual development of the project.
Contributes to the writing of manuscripts.
Submits proposal for post-doctoral fellowship funding.
Performs literature search related to regulation of TRP ion channels.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Candidate must hold a Ph.D. and have a strong background in fluorescence imaging, electrophysiology and molecular biology.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be able to work independently.

PHYSICALDEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Must be able to lift or exert force up to ten (10) pounds.
