A lab technician position is available in Dr. Chang Kim's Immunology Lab in the Mary H. Weiser Food Allergy Center. Interested individuals should send a cover letter, CV, and the names and contact information for 2-3 references to the attention of Dr. Chang Kim.
The Mary H. Weiser Food Allergy Center conducts comprehensive research with the goal of improving patient care and expanding education, research, and services that will improve the lives of food-allergic individuals.
Responsibilities will include:
PCR and basic molecular biology techniques
Cell isolation, culture, ELISA, flow cytometry, other assays and plotting the data
Breeding, genotyping, and dissecting mice
Maintaining an inventory of mice, chemicals and reagents
Ordering and preparing research supplies
Maintaining databases and research records
Assisting experiments for microscopy and flow cytometry
Reagent and buffer preparation
Other duties as assigned by faculty supervisor
There may also be opportunities to present research articles and data for personal development.
BA/BS in biology or a related field with 1-2 years of laboratory research experience is required, including work experience at the undergraduate level.
Have general understanding of common research techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are important.
Strong interest in immunology research and biomedical science are desired.
Ability to learn and understand basic data analysis, mouse breeding schemes, and experimental troubleshooting is important.
Accuracy and persistence in carrying out tasks are important.
