About This Opportunity: Under the supervision of the Senior Event Specialist, the Event Captain is responsible for overseeing the set-up, execution, and tear down of events taking place within the Campus Crossroads venues. Campus Crossroads consists of approximately 800,000 square feet of classroom, research, student life, media, event, and hospitality space via three buildings attached to the Notre Dame Stadium. There are two premium ballrooms, reception space, and eight outdoor terraces offering breathtaking views of campus. The Event Captain will be responsible for ensuring room set up is done correctly and according to timeline, prior to vendor arrival. The Event Captain will ensure all vendors arrive at their expected time and they will touch base with the client prior to the start of the event to ensure all customer expectations are met. During the event they will troubleshoot A/V when needed and provide assistance with any repairs needed. The ability to problem solve and rectify a situation quickly are essential for this position. Minimum Qualifications: Must Haves: - Experience assisting with events. - Knowledge of overall event management. - Experience in Service Industry. - Highly organized. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external constituents. - Appreciation of the Notre Dame mission.
