About the Position: The Capital Programs and Facilities Management Department is committed to planning, developing, and maintaining a safe, sustainable, and high quality learning and working environment for the campus community. Capital Programs and Facilities Management provides oversight of university resources and assets and is responsible for the development of the University's facilities including land use planning, capital improvement, project development, construction, as well as facilities operations and maintenance including custodial services, landscape services, building trade services, mechanical and electrical, and recycling services. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Lead Plumber. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Under general supervision of the Supervising Plumber, the Lead Plumber will operate service, repair and inspect a full range of plumbing, mechanical and related systems throughout campus buildings and infrastructure. The Lead Plumber may be responsible for oversight and implementation of the Plumbing Shop preventive maintenance program. Oversees the design and installation of equipment and system for new construction, modifications, PM, service, maintenance and repairs, including planning, coordination, needs assessment, reviews, monitoring work and inspections. Estimates, prioritizes, assigns, and schedules work and projects, including operational integration with maintenance management systems. Develops work and equipment records, installation standards, reports and other items listed under the State Qualification Standard and position matrix. Trains and develops trades personnel assigned to shop, including technical and safety items. Other duties as assigned.
5 years of experience leading other journey level plumbers.
Experience working in an industrial/commercial/educational environment.
Experience and thorough knowledge of plumbing and appropriate building and fire codes.

Experience working in a high tech, laboratory or university environment. Ability to obtain Asbestos Certification. Experience with using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems software packages, utilizing mobile devices and desktop dashboards.
