Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Postdoctoral Appointee within Surgical Oncology department of Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Appointee position is to conduct research investigation into developmental therapeutics in cancer and pancreatic cancer metastasis and dormancy under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. Performs research, experiments, and laboratory techniques of a specialized nature under direct supervision of the Principal Investigator. Drafts written reports for inclusion in manuscripts and grant proposals.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Conducts research experiments using cellular and molecular biological techniques both in vitro and in mice
Prepares written reports of the research experiments.
Prepares grant proposals based on the research conducted.
Gives oral presentations of the research.

Minimum Education and Experience:
Ph.D. and/or M.D. in a relevant science finishing their training (following their residency and/or fellowship) who wish to prepare for careers in academic medicine.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Background in cancer biology research, preferred particularly with performing experiments using mouse models of cancer.
