Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Physician Specialist for the Hospital Medicine Division of the Family Medicine Department at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The Physician Specialist provides general clinical services. Responsible for preventative medicine, diagnosis and treatment of acute illnesses, procedures associated with hospital medicine, immunizations, women’s health, and management of chronic conditions.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Studies, evaluates, diagnoses and treats diseases of the human body related to the specialty training.
Examines patients utilizing all types of medical equipment, instruments and treats following the standard medical procedures.
Performs procedures associated with hospital medicine, prescribes and administers medicine and engages in research and in control and care of disease.
Develops and treats new medical, diagnostic and treatment techniques related to the specialty and investigates new drugs and medications.
Provides women's health services.
Performs physical exams, health screenings and counseling to preserve health and prevent disease.
Makes recommendations for treatment, therapeutic planning and follow-up studies.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Completion of medical internship or equivalent.
Insurance to practice medicine in the State of New Jersey.
Three (3) years of approved specialty training. Board certified, eligible, or qualified by the state laws/regulations to practice medicine.
Licensed physician in the State of New Jersey.
Current CDS and DEA registration.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experienced in a primary care specialty.
Competent in providing comprehensive and compassionate care.
