Budget Title: Instructional Support Assistant (SL-1)
Salary: Commensurate with experience
The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences invites applications for a full-time Instructional Support Assistant to join our scientific technical staff for the school. The successful hire will be responsible for all activities related to non-sterile and sterile compounding laboratories (e.g., assist in the preparation and delivery of PharmD student laboratory teaching including the preparation of non-sterile and sterile pharmaceutical products; maintain student assessment grading and records; standardized patient payroll backup; work with teaching assistants in the delivery of laboratory courses to graduate students; and maintain regulatory compliance for a 797 certified sterile preparation room in conjunction with the Departments of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacy Practice). Incumbent will assist in graduate research teaching and training activities for the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and report to the Skills Education Director, who oversees the Teaching laboratories.
The candidate should have:
Experience in at least one of the following areas: hospital pharmacy technician (sterile produces and/or compounding experience preferred); basic laboratory technician (e.g.analytical chemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry, biology and/or microbiology); and/or medical laboratory technician
Ability to perform basic laboratory calculations
Effective written and oral communication skills with collaboration across departments
Strong organizational skills for maintaining equipment, schedules, and records
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel
An Associate's degree in a related field with a minimum of 4 years of work experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field with 2 year of research experience
Experience in laboratory and/or pharmaceutical product ordering inventory management
