The College at Brockport
The College at Brockport, State University of New York is accepting applications for a Project Coordinator of the Scholar & Grants Development Office. Reporting to the Scholar & Grants Development Coordinator, the Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, organizing, and overseeing Scholars Day, establishing and facilitating internal review committees to oversee grants, and coordinating student research activities (summer, on-campus, and off-campus). The position will work in collaboration with the Director of Undergraduate Research on various projects and assist in implementing new ideas.
Coordinates, implements and oversees the annual Scholars Day. Schedules all details including, but not limited to, room reservations, catering, meetings with faculty, web team and various groups on campus. Develops and implements newsletters, itineraries, announcements, flyers and programs. Coordinates and oversees all student and faculty task groups for the day of the program. Implements the application process- works with the web team to update applications and forms, working with faculty members if needed. Maintains a budget and tracks expenses through funding contributed from various departments. Coordinates, reviews and facilitates internal grant review committees for various internal grant opportunities. Maintains internal grants that are available to faculty, staff and students. Maintains office website to ensure internal grants are up to date and guidelines and submission processes are accurate. Oversees internal grants review committee and meets with committee to review and score grant applications and sends out award letters. Collaborates with the Research Foundation to track grant spending and ensures proposed grant spending aligns with grant application. Publicizes awarded grant recipients in newsletter. Coordinates undergraduate research opportunities including NCUR (National Conference undergraduate research and SURC (SUNY undergraduate research conference). Oversees student applications, travel reimbursement and ensures students are registered to attend. Assists in the summer undergraduate research functions; partners with the Director of Undergraduate Research to implement and institutionalize new ideas. Provides administrative support to the Director of Undergraduate Research on new grant programs for faculty and students as well as other new initiatives. Researches external grants and connects funding opportunities to faculty/staff; provides grant database training and guidance to faculty/staff as needed through SPIN (research funding opportunity database). Edits existing and/or develop new forms and templates. Delivers multiple workshops to prepare students for Scholars Day.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university; experience in providing group presentations; and, demonstrated excellent written, verbal and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications Master's degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university; experience in event planning and knowledge in developing grant proposals; and, familiarity in MS Office, in particular, Excel and Word.
Department Description The Scholar & Grants Development Office promotes the mission, reputation and identify of The College at Brockport. It consists of 4 professional staff members and 1 graduate assistant who work diligently to help the campus community identify and submit applications for potential sources of government, foundation or corporate funding for scholarship, travel, or program development. The office works in collaboration with the Office of Undergraduate Research to support student-learners through shared experiences in discovering, creating, and acquiring new knowledge and methods in the discipline.
