Salary: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 (Commensurate with Experience)
The College of Mathematics and Sciences (CMS) is comprised of six departments which all have the goal of engaging students through inquiry, innovation, and technology. Our academic focus is centered around our desire to learn about and improve the human condition and the natural world. Students are prepared for entrance into the workforce or advanced studies due to a strong academic foundation and experiential learning opportunities, such as internships and undergraduate research. CMS includes approximately 65 full-time faculty and 1000 students.
The Department of Computer and Information Science at Westfield State University supports majors in both Computer Science and Computer Information Systems, and is currently in the process of developing programs in both Cybersecurity and Data Science. The department is growing its faculty and seeks an individual with energy, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to teaching and curriculum development. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to make a real contribution to the department's programs - in particular the emerging Cybersecurity program - and be recognized and appreciated for that contribution.
General Statement of Duties: The Department of Computer and Information Science at Westfield State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in the Fall of 2020.

This new hire will work with the department to develop and establish a cybersecurity program, as well as teach courses which support that program. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education and broad potential for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
The teaching load is 12 credits per semester.

Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. or ABD in computer science, or other related field, with an expertise in cybersecurity.
