Job Description: The College of Mathematics and Sciences (CMS) is comprised of six departments which all have the goal of engaging students through inquiry, innovation, and technology. Our academic focus is centered around our desire to learn about and improve the human condition and the natural world. Students are prepared for entrance into the workforce or advanced studies due to a strong academic foundation and experiential learning opportunities, such as internships and undergraduate research. CMS includes approximately 65 full-time faculty and 1000 students.

General Statement of Duties: Westfield State University's Chemical and Physical Sciences Department invites applications for a full time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Chemistry for Fall semester 2020. Teaching assignments include instrumental analysis and general chemistry, both with laboratory. The standard teaching load is 12 hours per semester. Advising of students, continuing scholarship and contributions to the university community are expected.
Requirements: Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in analytical chemistry or a closely related field is required
The successful candidate must provide evidence of outstanding teaching ability or potential.
Also required are a strong interest in teaching at the undergraduate level and in engaging chemistry majors in undergraduate research.
A versatility to teach physical chemistry, while not required, is preferred.
