Job Description Summary: Director of Student Conduct Community Standards assists in leading and assessing the University's student conduct program. The Director oversees the adjudication of reports of alleged University policy violations when a student is involved and provides recommendations to the appropriate administrator or hearing board The Director coordinates outreach and educational programming opportunities related to Title IX, sex- and gender-based misconduct, bystander intervention, consent, alcohol/other substance, and related topics. This individual coordinates the implementation and assessment of student conduct processes, maintains documentation database (Maxient) and provides training and guidance for colleagues at extended domestic sites and international campuses. This individual reports to the Dean of Students.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelors Degree and/or equivalent experience Knowledge of, or ability to learn, student development theory and practice Knowledge of, or ability to learn, University policies and procedures Knowledge of, or ability to learn, relevant local, state, and federal laws Ability to maintain confidentiality pertaining to sensitive information and files Ability to collaborate and work with a diverse community Strong planning and organizational skills Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications Masters degree Two years related professional experience is preferred Prior training in conducting civil rights based investigations is preferred.
Essential Duties Coordinate the processes of investigating and resolving reports of possible violations of the Student Code of Conduct involving students for the Webster University network, domestic and international Develop assessment initiatives relating to the student conduct system Coordinate effective student conduct system training the global network of campuses including providing advising and guidance of student conduct hearing officers at other locations Develop, implement, and assess Student Conduct Advisor program Select and train individuals serving on the University Conduct Hearing Boards Advise internal and external constituents regarding behavioral concerns involving students, referring to appropriate departments Ensure timely completion of administrative tasks including, but not limited to: maintaining student files, following up with students regarding assigned sanctions, assisting in requests for student conduct records Assist in maintaining and updating confidential student conduct records according to University policies and procedures Develop, implement, and assess outreach and educational programming related to Title IX, alcohol and drug misuse, consent, and related topics Assist with Title IX investigations if necessary (anticipated to be rare) Serve on University committees as needed Other duties as assigned
