Job Description Summary: The Coordinator of Student Health and Counseling Services will provide administrative medical assistant support to the operations Student Health Services and Counseling/Life Development, including management of the front office, patient/client customer service, scheduling appointments, assisting with student health insurance program, assisting with the management of records within an electronic medical records system and facilitating referrals for urgent and non-urgent matters.
Minimum Qualifications Exceptional customer service and communication skills (verbal and written) Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite of software programs Skills in assessment and report generation Strong computer/technology skills Ability to establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships with students, faculty and staff throughout the Universitys network Effective in urgent and emergency situations Bachelors degree and/or equivalent experience is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications Strong preference for a Certified Administrative Medical Assistant
Essential Duties Serve as the receptionist for clients, patients and other visitors to the Center. Manage appointment scheduling processes for counseling and student health staff department. Assist with collection of patient health information and processing within the electronic medical records system. Assist with responding to urgent situations presented by patients and clients Maintain strict confidentiality with the client, patient and student health insurance and medical records and information. Assist with administrative tasks related to the Universitys student health insurance program, including explaining policy parameters to students, working with/verifying program enrollment. Provide direct customer service to patients and clients, including documentation during initial visits, reminder calls for up-coming appointments, following-up after appointments, managing client waitlist, and other related tasks. Assists with coordination of supply inventory, budget monitoring, and collecting assessment date for reporting purposes as needed. Provide clerical and administrative support to counseling and health service staff as needed. Participates on University-wide and/or departmental committees as needed.
