Job Description Summary: This position assists the AVP, Online Education with the management of student enrollment and engagement of online students. This individual will develop and implement strategies to enroll, engage and retain students into Webster University. Primary responsibilities include providing insight and lead team in processes to attract and enroll qualified students to ensure optimum levels of enrollment across the University. The successful candidate will supervise the student enrollment and support staff and lead them as they develop services directed towards prospective and current online students. This position will play a vital role in supporting the recruitment, enrollment and retention health of the institution.
This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day management of student enrollment and engagement services. The manager will utilize an analytical, empirical, data-driven approach to problem solving and decision-making - specifically related to the areas of enrollment, engagement, and retention. The manager will provide regular reports, data analyses, and evaluation tools to University leadership and further a data-informed culture to shape strategic enrollment and student success communications. This position will interact with various Webster University departments including: Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management, Academic Advising, Global Marketing & Communications, Information Technology, Admissions Processing, and extended campuses.
Minimum Qualifications Functional/Technical Skills: Knowledge of FERPA guidelines and adherence. Knowledge and experience in the use of administrative software systems such as Windows, Word, Excel (skill with pivot tables a must), PowerPoint, Outlook, Constant Contact, Video Conferencing Systems, Learning Management Systems, Student Information Systems and reporting software. Requisite Experience: Masters degree and at least five years professional work experience in a higher education environment. Proven experience with recruitment, enrollment and student engagement initiatives, student orientation, and proactive support. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with colleagues such as faculty, staff, students, the University community and external constituents.
Preferred Qualifications Experience collaborating within an extended campus network a plus.
Essential Duties Recruitment and Enrollment Collaborate with marketing and lead generation partner to align communication strategies to promote Webster Universitys online learning programs. Create, maintain, monitor, and analyze data collection and reporting on various recruitment, enrollment and retention measures for online learning and academic departments. Daily supervision of the student engagement team and all related initiatives and activities. Maximize yield by fostering a collaborative atmosphere of effective and positive engagement with students. Lead the development of strategic goals and plans for the units enrollment by though implementation of the Universitys comprehensive strategic enrollment plan. Produces regular reports and data analyses to University leadership to inform data driven decisions related to recruitment, enrollment and retention. Works to further a data-informed culture to shape strategic enrollment and student success communications.
Retention Directs the follow-up activity of admitted students through the enrollment process, including fostering relationships with various departments related to student success. Responsible for integrating and coordinating online modality student services initiatives with other Webster offices that support online modality students, including Admissions, Financial Aid, Academic Advising, Extended Campuses, etc. Effectively utilize data to maximize team time and effort in reaching out to students and providing support through the enrollment process. Analyze trends in retention and engagement to identify potential opportunities for advancement or efficiency; monitor efforts, processes, and efficacy through analysis of key performance indicators. Represent the online students in initiatives such as Retention Committee, Starfish Committee, Advising Meetings, etc.
Scheduling Will supervise scheduling coordinators and oversee the scheduling of synchronous and asynchronous online modalities. Work to create efficiencies and cross team communications to meet student need via course scheduling.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities At least 10% of all staff members time will be dedicated to continuous improvement projects.
