Job Description Summary: This position will primarily work as a producer/writer for various promotional and advertorial video products. In addition, this person will provide writing support for all multimedia projects in the marketing and creative services areas of the GMC unit, including online and social media. This person will also be called upon as a project manager for a variety of multimedia projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications Three to five years working in advertising, brand management, or journalism, with an emphasis on commercial video production during most if not all of those years of experience. Undergraduate degree in marketing, advertising, video production, journalism, fine arts, or related fields. Functional/Technical Skills: Demonstrated experience with the Adobe Publishing Suite & Creative Suite 6, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Keynote, Word, Storyboard Artist and PowerPoint. Experience managing commercial video production in the field and working with videographers, photographers, editors, graphic artists and others; interpersonal skills and good communication among co-workers are essential. Demonstrated ability to take a project from concept into planning and field production through post-production: demo reel must be submitted to show past successful video projects. Experience producing projects that included motion graphics. Strong understanding of print and web design.
Preferred Qualifications Five to seven years of advanced video production experience. Experience writing for multiple media platforms. Experience working with television graphic artists is a plus.
Essential Duties Create videos for distribution on multiple platforms. Write scripts, plan using electronic storyboards, and guide the video process with a highly skilled creative team. Create both videos for advertising but also videos for events and videos that document events. Must have strong video field production skills, coupled with strong fundamental approaches to multi-media production.
Produce written projects in a variety of media forms that amplify the creative message emanating from our marketing team. Provide both creative input and editing oversight of messaging coming from the Universitys marketing areas. Write ads, scripts and social media as needed to accomplish this goal.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities* As a member of a creative team, provides input on the overall marketing plan, social media plan, video and visual plans that inform all projects coming from GMCs marketing areas.
May help with project planning and execution as a project manager when called upon in that capacity. May be called upon to work as a project manager for printed projects or other multi-media projects beyond daily video production and writing needs.
