The Rockefeller University seeks a Laboratory Helper (3 days per week; 60% effort) to join Laboratory of Neural Systems. The Laboratory Helper will prepare and sterilize experimental supplies and reagents. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory of general lab supplies including record-keeping, submitting order requests, and re-stocking. Will organize and document chemical substances, keep track of expiration dates, as well as coordinate with the Lab Safety Officer for hazardous waste disposal. The Laboratory Helper will maintain functionality of general lab instruments (e.g. eyewash stations, suction system, NHP transport carts), and keep a clean and orderly working environment.
High School diploma or equivalent required. General interest in working in a brain research laboratory a must. Must have an excellent work ethic, be meticulous, reliable, and work independently after training. Good interpersonal, communication, and organization skills required. Basic computer skills a must.
