About the Opportunity: The Department of Economics in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities at Northeastern University seeks nominations and applications from leading scholars for the position of Associate Professor or Professor of Economics with an expected start date of Fall 2020. The successful candidate will have a distinguished scholarly record and demonstrated excellence in teaching and leadership.
The fields within economics are open, although applications are particularly encouraged from candidates in applied microeconomics, including labor economics and related areas. Faculty appointments may be made in one or more of the member departments of the college, including the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs, Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Department of Political Science, and the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice. Cross-college appointments are also possible. We are particularly interested in scholars who work with or use machine-learning tools. Successful applicants will likely affiliate with one of our research centers dedicated to computational social science, network science, and artificial intelligence.
