Summary of Duties: Serves as the specialist to inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair the fans, motors, and related equipment associated with the supply and exhaust air systems in all campus buildings. Performs repair work on other rotating equipment and mechanical systems. Includes minor work with electrical circuits and simple hydraulics associated with the disassembly and assembly of systems. Installs new bearings of all types, which may require unique or unusual hoist arrangements for support or removal of equipment during the process. May require fabrication of specialty items.
Required Qualifications: Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade and one year of experience as a journey-level worker in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operators license may be required.
