Compensation: The starting salary for the position is $43,425.25 annually. New full-time employees earn 8hrs of vacation days per month. There are approximately 17 paid holidays per fiscal year. Career incentive program is available after completion of the one-year probation period.
Benefits: A full benefits package which includes employer-paid medical, dental, and vision plans for employee and dependents; $100,000 employee life insurance; other optional coverages; and membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS).
Position Details: Two full-time (40 hours per week), grant-funded positions, equivalent to 11 months per year (spread over 12 months), for GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs). The primary work location will start at either King Middle School or Lincoln Middle School in Oceanside but may change locations at any time.
The positions are currently funded through 10/01/2025. Continued employment in these positions is contingent upon availability of funding (grant is anticipated to be renewed annually through 10/01/2025) and satisfactory performance in accordance with district standards. The work schedule may vary based on the needs of the program and will sometimes include evenings, weekends and holidays. The persons selected for these positions will be subject to assignment to any district or authorized facility during any hours of operation.
ABOUT THE GEAR UP GRANT: GEAR UP is a federally funded Title III Grant. MiraCosta College, in partnership with Oceanside Unified School District, will work with two cohorts of students starting at the four middle schools to prepare them for college. Basic Function: Under general direction, assist in the organization, planning, and implementation of GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) grant goals, objectives, and activities at a specific school site; coordinate with administration and work on a school campus, and work with two cohorts of GEAR UP students in the Oceanside Unified School District; and perform related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience: To be eligible for this position, you must meet and provide evidence of the following minimum qualifications:
Graduation from an associate degree program and one year of closely related work experience in a student/educational work environment; OR An equivalent combination of training and experience.
NOTE: For work experience, one year is defined as equivalent to 40 hours per week for 12 months, or at least 2,080 hours.
