The Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position in the Section of General Internal Medicine at the University of Washington Medical Center. This position will be at the Assistant Professor level on the clinician-teacher pathway (without tenure due to funding). This position would have research, clinical, and teaching responsibilities. This position would have an annual service period of 12 months [July1-June30]. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The anticipated start date would be July 1, 2020.
The successful candidate will see outpatients and attend at the General Internal Medicine Center at UWMC-Roosevelt, and serve as the Associate Medical Director for Population Health for UW Medicine. This individual will also have an integral role in the education of residents and medical students through both patient-centered training and participation in formal structured curriculum. In addition, it is expected that the successful candidate will support the scholarly component of their position through securing external grant funding.
Requirements include an M.D. or D.O. degree (or foreign equivalent) and Internal Medicine board eligibility/certification (or foreign equivalent). A track record of peer-reviewed publications in population health, healthcare economics, and/or healthcare quality is required for consideration. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services and have board certification in Internal Medicine.
