Reporting to the Director of Student Programs, the StudentInvolvement Specialist 3 administers, oversees, and directs all program activities for studentorganizations and is the lead advisor for select student organizations (including but not limited to Campus Activities Board). The Student InvolvementSpecialist 3 performs a wide scope of complex duties and responsibilities in the management ofstudent activities; exercises independent judgment; creates and manages processes and protocols forstudent organizations to promote learning and thinking, student engagement, community building,socially responsible leadership and diversity. The individual is alsoresponsible for managing risk for student org activities, oversight of fundraisers for studentclubs; advising, administering, and training student organizations and theiradvisors; and developing policies and procedures that support student organizations and thestudent leadership experience.
Additionally, this position will play an integral role on the Student Programs team, supporting andplanning events, and promoting the departmental vision and mission while developing andcontributing to departmental goals. The schedule for this position is highly flexible due to thenature and timing of student-led events and activities, and includes evening and weekend hoursthroughout the year.

POSITION DUTIES Administration Develop and implement student organization student leader and advisor training materials andworkshops throughout the academic year. Oversees Student Programs' efforts to be uniform and consistent with other CTCsand 4-year colleges in Washington State and throughout the US. Prepares budget requests, provides advice and information related to financial status; creates yearly budgets for the student org the position oversees,for submission to the S&A Committee. Conducts or directs tasks to develop, implement, monitor, and analyze CAB and student org datareporting systems; With the Director of Student Programs, conducts analysis and interprets involvement datato develop or adjust strategic initiatives to support studentorganizations. Assist with identifying and addressing risk management issues for student organizations; ensurethe waivers are completed and administered correctly. Create, review, communicate and enforce student org protocols and guidelines. Oversee and work with professional staff and Director of Student Programs and student org onlineforms, web pages, training tools, flyers/posters. Prepares comprehensive plans, summaries, recommendations, progress or special reports as directed. Advising/Mentoring Advise select student organizations (including but not limited to Campus Activities Board). Advise student org officers in the planning, promotion, implementation of all student org-sponsored campus events to include evenings and weekends. Provides technical assistance and consultative service to student orgs officers and Director of StudentPrograms in development of campus activities. Advise, mentor and support student leaders on an individual and group basis; Work with students toset short and long-term goals. Develop and steward the officer selection process for student orgs the position advises, toensure compliance with Bellevue Collegepolicies and procedures. Develop and implement ongoing training and professional development for student org officers and members. Co-administrator for CAB social media platforms belonging to any student org the position advises; co-advises student org officers on social media practice andetiquette. Advises student leaders and advisors, and consults with the college's Risk Committee to ensure thatall approved activities are well-planned, meet College policies and guidelines and avoid unduerisk. Events Planning/Management Attend regular meetings and sponsored events and meet weekly with leadership for any student organization the position oversees, whichrequires high flexibility of scheduling to include evenings and weekends. Provides day-ofprofessional point of contact and troubleshooting for CAB events. As part of the Student Programs team, plans, manages and assesses departmental signature events andinitiatives. Lead staff member on planning and evaluation of key Student Program Signature events such asWelcome Week, finals distress, etc. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, such as Associate' sdegree plus 2 years working with student organizations and event management in higher education. Ability to relate and communicate effectively with students, staff and faculty of diverse ages,backgrounds, and abilities, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two (2) years of experience in advising students, advising organizations, event planning andworking with diverse populations. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, computer spreadsheet, word processing, and database (e.g.Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher). Self-motivated, ability to work independently, and ability towork well in a team and demonstrate initiative and cooperation with others. Prior experience working as a member of an event management team and collaborating with others atvarying levels at the community college level. Ability to work well underpressure. Possess a strong commitment to student development in higher education at a communitycollege. Ability to learn technology solutions and technical skills. Effective organizational and communication skills including an ability to oversee a wide variety ofactivities, to define problems, to propose and implement effective solutions, while being able toset and readjust often competing priorities.
