Job Description Summary: The Alumni Relations/Annual Fund Associate is responsible for supporting, developing, and executing the alumni experience for Webster University's alumni population worldwide. The Alumni Relations/Annual Fund Associate also plays a key role in growing the alumni participation rate in giving and growing the Annual Fund through segmented targeted appeals and leveraging Reunions to increase alumni support. Reports to the Director, Alumni Relations and Annual Fund.
Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelors Degree required; Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills. Results driven and self-motivated. Strong relationship builder trustworthy, warm and dependable. Ability to recruit, motivate and appreciate volunteers. Ability to solicit financial support from alumni. Ability to an analyze data to develop effective segmentation to inform email communications, direct mail solicitations and special event ideas.
Essential Duties Supports the Alumni Board by helping these volunteers serve as effective ambassadors. Recruits and manages volunteers key Reunion Classes, such as 50th, 25th, 10th, 5th or Zero. Builds relationships with local alumni through personal outreach and in-person meetings. Helps steward gifts by mailing handwritten thank you notes to all donors not under management. Supports the Alumni Benefits program. Supports the Alumni Career Resource program through an active webinar program. Evaluates alumni outreach and makes recommendations for program development. Supports the execution of a comprehensive Alumni Weekend that celebrates key reunion classes and honors our Alumni Award recipients. Supports the planning and execution of a variety of alumni engagement opportunities worldwide, including but not limited to, events specific to alumni affinity groups. Helps analyze the geographic distribution of alumni and alumni donors to determine effective and strategic outreach. Ensures all that event objectives are met such as building affinity, thanking volunteers, etc. by assessing those attending prior to event and by developing strategic follow-up after the event to increase engagement and secure financial support. Evaluates and benchmarks the best way to create and support an effective alumni network of alumni volunteers and leaders. Partners with Schools and Colleges to promote and improve alumni engagement and participation. Responsible for creating and implementing a plan to bridge the gap from student to alumni. Attends special events and travels as needed.
