The Department of Mathematics at the University of Nebraska – Omaha (UNO) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant-professor position in Statistics and Data Science beginning in August 2020. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in statistics or a closely related field by August 15, 2020.
Statistics, data science, and operations research make up the rapidly-growing Data and Decision Sciences (DDS) program within the UNO Mathematics Department. Faculty enjoy interdisciplinary collaborations with colleagues across UNO and the University of Nebraska system. Mathematics students can choose a concentration in any of these three areas at both the undergraduate and master’s levels. The successful candidate will work closely with faculty and students in the DDS group, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics and data science, supervise graduate students, collaborate with local industry, and maintain an active research program.
